Our annual Hymn Festival, begun in 2011, seeks to bring a wide variety of sacred music to our community by presenting a different type and/or style each year.
3rd Annual Hymn Festival: “Theme TBA”

The Boston Byzantine Choir will be presenting a program of Orthodox chant related to Holy Week, in preparation for the Paschal feast (April 20 for both Eastern and Western churches). You can hear a sample of them singing here.
2nd Annual Hymn Festival: “Music of the Taizé Community”

Formed around the life of Christ, the program included “Laudate Dominum”, “Magnificat”, “Ubi Caritas”, “O Lord, Hear My Prayer”, and “The Kingdom of God”, performed by St. Luke’s Festival, Handbell, and Brass choirs with guitarist Ed Harkey. Offerings supported the Lutheran Malaria Initiative. You can watch a montage video here.
1st Annual Hymn Festival: “Celebrating Irish Hymnody”

Formed around the liturgical year, the program included “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing”, “Wexford Carol”, “Child in the Manger”, “St. Patrick’s Lorica”, and “In Christ Alone”, performed by St. Luke’s Festival and Handbell choirs along with fiddler Samantha Gillogly and guitarist Ed Harkey. Offerings supported St. Luke’s Music Ministry.
